Earth Day is nearly here and it certainly is worth celebrating our amazing earth!

When the students have done the writing, they color the quilt square and cut it out.
Display them altogether and you will have a collaborative Earth Day themed quilt that the whole class will be proud of!

Earth Day Writing Prompts Quilt
Earth Day Sun Catcher
I also have 2 Earth Day crafts for kids that will help them to celebrate Earth Day and give you more amazing decorations.
To create the Earth Day Sun Catcher you will need:
- template printed on paper
- black card
- contact
- cellophane in blue and green (2 different shades of each is best)
- glue
- scissors
- tape
- string

The directions are below.
1. Cut cellophane into small pieces.
2. Glue the template onto the black card, printed side facing up.
3. Cut out all of the white parts on the globe.
4. Tape a piece of contact onto the table with the shiny side down and the sticky side up.
5. Stick the black card onto the contact, black side down.
6. Fill in the globe using the blue and green cellophane pieces, sticking them onto the contact.
7. When the globe is completely covered with blue and green cellophane, stick another sheet of contact over the globe pressing it down neatly.
8. Cut around the edge of the globe.
9. Cut a hole on the top and use string to hang it.
Earth Day Stained Glass Coloring
You will need:
- template printed on paper
- pencils or markers to color
- vegetable oil
- cotton wool ball

Instructions
1. Color the template with pencils or markers.
2. Cut out the globe.
3. Place it face down on a sheet of paper or plastic.
4. Use a cotton wool ball dipped in vegetable oil to wipe over the back of the globe to make it transparent.
5. Let it dry then place it on a window so the light shines through it.
